TEN PEOPLE DEAD, FIFTY MISSING
HUNZA RIVER COMPLETELY BLOCKED

Hunza, January 4: A massive landslide has destroyed most of the endangered Attabad village of Hunza valley.
A unexpected event occured 2 months back(nov) , a portion of a mountain eroded and wiped away the village called attabad

[Disaster Literature] The deadly river

A tremor that dragged us down

Trapped for months we will be found

A mist of despondency in the sky

The night’s woe, the day time’s cry

Ensnared in disaster without relief

We’re left distressed despite belief

We long for days that passed away

With dreams, smiles and sunlight’s ray

The unfathomable river with carnage aim

Conquers our valley in a dreadful game

It’s waves are brackish with human tears

It’s ebb and flow that essence fears

Sick of prey yet bawls for more

Deadly wrecks on its hostile shore

It razes and razes, the beat goes on

As nature persists it’s work upon

Twixt between our mores and rights

We are perplexed in how to to fight

Lets break the nut shell and raise our voice

Lets snatch our right we have no choice

Our decades of progress is not vain

My heart tells me we will sustain

Again we’d rise from mortal gash

Like phoenix takes it’s birth from ash

this event has also disrupted the vital trade link between Pakistan and China, however, there were several colateral damages and still continues as the erosion has caused a river block causing a 12 km wide damn bieng built, the villages are still getting affected and the banks are on the rise causing people from several villages to be displaced , many have become homeless and more will if a solution to this problem is not figured out soon, disaster management has responded well to the unprecedented event.
I call on the Government of Pakistan for a dire need of attention on this issue and the rehabilitation of people being injured and or displaced in this event.
I protest against the Government of Pakistan that the process of resolving this issue is taken lightly,
I urge the Government of Pakistan to give priority to this matter regardless of the case that if it has anything to do with any sort of treaty consignment or agreement between the Government of Pakistan and anyother country or private corporate-agency.
